Appearance
Depending on how much reading of policy and guidelines you've done, you may already be familiar with WP:Etiquette, also known as Wikiquette. This is the etiquette of Wikipedia that you should use when interacting with other users. I've outlined some of the points I believe are the most important below.
- Assume good faith. As an editor, you must assume that everyone is here to help improve the encyclopedia. Even if their edits may seem disruptive and harmful, try to see it from their perspective.
- Admit when you make a mistake, and apologize
- Be polite and civil
- Sign your posts!
- Remember that other editors are people too
- Remember to assume good faith
- Don't attack other editors
- Try and avoid common mistakes
- Most importantly, assume good faith
Assuming good faith is one of the most important points of Wikipedia, so make sure you know it well.
