Digieffects is a software developer based in Wilmington, NC known for their plug-ins that create special and visual effects including fire, smoke, snow, etc. easily within Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and other professional digital video editing tools. Much of these effects have been used and seen in many television shows, feature films, commercials, and music videos.
About Digieffects
[edit]Founded in 1996, Digieffects was originally based in Texas and has moved its headquarters to Wilmington, NC. Digieffects is a developer of visual effects software, the company’s products function as “plugins” and work in conjunction with Adobe After Effects, Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Autodesk Combustion, Boris RED and Grass Valley Edius.
In 2007, Digieffects was acquired by Robert Sharp.

[edit]Digieffects currently offers four visual effects plug in packages, each consisting of several, related themed visual effect plug ins specifically designed for the post production marketplace.
Delirium v2
[edit]Delirium v2 is an upgrade from the award winning plug-in originally created and released in 1999. In 2010, the plug-in suite was upgraded to be compatible with Adobe Creative Suite CS5's 64 bit upgrade. Delirium v2 contains 45 VFX plug-ins in a single package that cover six different categories of effects, including:[1]

Buena Depth Cue v2
[edit]Buena Depth Cue v2 provides After Effects artists with a workflow for creating visual depth in their projects. Buena Depth Cue V2 includes 6 plug-ins for creating depth:[2]

Damage v2
[edit]Damage v1 was first launched in 2008. In 2010, Simulate Camera was combined with the new upgrade of Damage v2, including Overexpose and Destabilize. In 2011, Aurorix's Aged Film was added to the Damage v2 suite. Damage v2 simulates “damaged” film and video looks to a user's project.[3] Damage v2 includes 7 plug-ins:

FreeForm
[edit]In 2009, Digieffects published FreeForm AE, originally created by Mettle Montreal. FreeForm extended and enhanced the existing 3D engine in After Effects CS4. In 2010, FreeForm was bundled with After Effects CS5.[4]
A La Carte Product Offerings
[edit]In December 2010, the company began offering single effects from their product packages on an a la carte basis for a lower price. [5]
Partnership with Roxio
[edit]In 2011, Digieffects and Roxio agreed to resell Digieffects' plug-ins under Roxio's Creator 2011.[6]
