(Notability MUST be given)
History
[edit](The history of the operator)
WikiBus was founded in 1900 by Joe Bloggs to replace the trams.. The company was purchased and amalgamated into Big Corp in 2006.
Operations
[edit](What does the operator currently do? How do they do it?)
WikiBus services operate on seventeen routes throughout Wiki Town providing regular services from Wiki Town Bus Station and a shuttle service to Wiki Town Airport. It's main competition in the Town is Other Bus... Services interlink with National carriers at..
WikiBus also hire out their Bus Recovery vehicles for the recovery of trucks and other large vehicles... Bus Depots are located at...
Fleet
[edit](What vehicles does the operator use? Consider using a table for long lists)
The WikiBus fleet consists of
- 55 Dennis Dominator Double-decker buses
- 55 Scania L94UB Low floor buses
Double decker buses are used primarily.. The Park and Ride facility is served by Low floor buses to allow greater accessibility for passengers.. One of each type of bus is reserved for training use. Another ten Scania Low floor buses are awaiting preparation for introduction on the urban routes.
Livery
[edit](What colours does the operator use? What historical colours have they used?)
WikiBus buses are predominately painted green with pink polka dots, the exceptions to this being School Buses (Yellow and Black) and the Airport Shuttle service (Lilac with flower motif). The original 1900 paint scheme was dark green and was not changed until acquisition by Big Corp.
Bus stops are coloured..
Fares
[edit](OPTIONAL - How are fares collected, how have the prices changed)
Fares are paid either on the bus or by a pre-payment card scheme. A trial of pay-by-SMS began in 2006 which allows customers to purchase tickets using their mobile phones.
(Be careful when listing current fare prices, will the page be updated often? Add - Correct as of DATE - if unsure)
Routes
[edit](Table or list of routes giving major destinations/stops)
(If the buses have a Route Colour, then show this on the table)
- The table below shows the main service routes operated by WikiBus.
- Please note that colours shown in the table are derived from the Network Map but do not appear on the vehicles themselves.
Service | Notes | Route |
---|---|---|
1, 1A | [1] | Middleleaze - Ramleaze - Grange Park - Link Centre - Great Western Outlet Village - Fleming Way - Walcot East - Coleview - Stratton Park - Nythe - Covingham |
10 | Penhill - Pinehurst - Gorse Hill - Ocotal Way - Fleming Way - Old Town - Okus |
This is an example table which is my own personal preference showing terminals in BOLD, another good example table is shown at Wikipedia:WikiProject buses/Bus route list guide which allows for more information and also wiki-linking of individual route articles
