About Me

[edit]

I am currently a running start student in the Pacific Northwest, meaning I'm a high school student in college. A little about me, a few of my hobbies consist of painting, drawing, crocheting, making my own jewelry, reading, writing, cooking/baking, wrestling, and sometimes video games. My favorite genre of books to read are fiction, science fiction, romance, and thriller/horror. My favorite food to make is pasta, I usually make a fettuccine alfredo or a vodka red sauce pasta. Another one of my favorites to make is bread, one day I hope to make sourdough but I've heard it is a very tedious experience to house a sourdough starter for a lot of people.[1] Maybe one day though.

My Wikipedia Interests

[edit]

If I ever do end up working on content here on Wikipedia, things that I think I would be interested in writing about would most likely be the history of something I already enjoy doing, like maybe the History of Art or the History of Writing. I think it would be cool to do research and to write about these things because I'd be able to get a deeper understanding of things I already enjoy, while also writing to help others understand it. I also think it would be easier for me to write about something that I am interested in.

Article Evaluation - Cassiopeia (The Constellation)

[edit]

I visited the Cassiopeia (constellation) article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: it's lack of recent citations, the information about mythology, and it's information about the stars.

The mythology section of this article has some issues with clarity and accuracy. It briefly summarizes the myth of Queen Cassiopeia but lacks depth in explaining variations across different cultures. The article also mixes certain mythological details, such as Cassiopeia's role in the myth and her depiction in different traditions, without providing sufficient context or citing good sources.

When I was looking through the wikipedia article, I noticed how some claims lack reliable or verifiable sources, especially when regarding to mythological references or historical details. Also, a lot of sections rely on vague or outdated sources, making it difficult to assess the accuracy of the information. There are also some instances where general statements are made without direct citations, and some references are to non-peer-reviewed websites or self-published material.

This article has issues with the description of its stars. Some star names and details lack proper citations or rely on outdated/obscure sources. The article could provided more information about the individual stars, such as their spectral types, distances, and key characteristics. Also, certain stars in the constellation are mentioned without adequate context regarding their significance or role in the overall structure of Cassiopeia.

Overall, I would rate this article as just "okay". It had some good information but a lot of its citations were outdated or obscure, so it's hard to say whether or not its that reliable. Also, it lacks information about important parts in this article, like the stars and mythology, I think if added and cited properly it would add a better understanding of the constellation.
