Ireland / Republic of Ireland vote
[edit]This is a vote on whether to move the current Ireland and Republic of Ireland articles to a new location. In one of the options the location of the Ireland (disambiguation) page is affected. What do you think?

Procedure for voting
[edit]- The ballot will be conducted under PRSTV
- Please rank each option in order of preference e.g. "A6B1C2D4E3F5", "A6 B1 C2 D4 E3 F5", or "A6, B1, C2, D4, E3, F5"
- Any option may be omitted from the vote, e.g. "B1 C2 E3"
- Votes must be sequential, e.g. "B3 C1 E2" NOT "B3 C1"
- Sign and date your vote but do not append any comments
Closing date/adjudication
[edit]- Voting will end at midnight (UTC) of the evening of --/--/2009
- The ArbCom committee will assign one of the moderators who will adjudicate the result of the vote
- Results of the vote are final and binding for a period of two years
Procedure for counting the votes
[edit]- The assigned moderator will privately appoint 3 tellers to count the votes. Their Wiki IDs will not be made public
- All tellers will use the same software to count the ballots, namely OpenSTV, using the "Instant Runoff Voting" method
- The tellers will all submit their tally sheets to the moderator
- The moderator will ensure that all 3 tallys agree
- Should the tallys not agree the moderator will notify the tellers of a discrepancy and request that ALL votes are recounted and will repeat the validation process
Participants
[edit]- Unregistered users may not vote (to prevent fraud) but may contribute comments
- Punishment for canvassing, forum shopping, ballot stuffing, sock puppetry, meat puppetry or otherwise manipulating the ballot (or attempting to do so) will be a 12 month block
- Votes by sock puppets or meat puppets (and their masters) or similar will be removed from the balloting area
- There is a minimum number of XX participants required to validate the ballot
The Result
[edit]- The assigned moderator will announce the result on this page
- They will announce which option has been chosen and will include a copy of the final tallysheet as a linked subpage
- The result will be open for peer review for a period of 7 days from date/timestamp of the announcement
- Unless directed otherwise by ArbCom, the assigned moderator will perform any necessary page moves after the 7 day peer review
