The term Flum is British vernacular for a person or persons who is unable to attract and entice their ideal partner when in contact with them. A Flum is most commonly sighted at social gatherings such as parties or motives, when they are unable to 'pull' their ideal partner. The Flum is socially looked down upon as they struggle to convert. A friend of the Flum may feel sorry for the Flum as he is pitied for not having a chance of getting a partner. A Flum can be identified through their failure to convert and is illegible to receive the award of 'Flum of the week'. A friendgroup can award this to a friend who identifies as the Flum. Flum is a recent addition to British slang as it is derived from the term fumble. Hence being shortened to fum then being converted to flum for ease of use. Flumbleton or Flumbridge are also alternates to the original Flum name.
