NS1 is an authoritative DNS (DNS) company headquartered in New York City with additional offices in San Francisco, CA, Londonderry, NH, Brighton, UK, and Singapore.
History
[edit]NS1 was founded in 2013 by Kris Beevers[1], Jonathan Sullivan, and Alex Vayl.[2]. The founding team had previously worked together at Voxel dot Net and later, Internap, which acquired Voxel in 2012[3].
Financing Events
[edit]In April 2015, NS1 closed its Series A round of $5.4 million, led by Flybridge Capital Partners and Sigma Prime Partners with participation from Founder Collective, Center Electric, and other investors[4].
In September 2016, NS1 secured $20 million in a Series B round led by Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners[5]. Additionally, on November 23, 2016 Telstra Ventures, the venture capital arm of Telstra Corporation Limited (ASX: TLS), joined in NS1’s Series B round. Telstra Ventures is a corporate venture capital group founded in 2011 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Telstra, Australia’s leading telecommunications and technology company.[6]
In September 2017, NS1 raised $20 million in a venture round led by GGV Capital[7], with participation from Salesforce Ventures[8], and existing investors Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners, Flybridge Capital Partners, Sigma Prime Ventures, Telstra Ventures and Two Sigma Ventures.[9]
