Have you read this? Intelligent falling Evil evolutionists strike again. Hell is wait'n : ) FloNight talk 22:50, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

I read it, but am not sure what I read. Ha. Oh yea, and get rid of those fair use images! I'm going to miss the Little Mermaid. --DanielCD 20:12, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
I'm starting to wonder about Neoplatonism and Gnosticism. Perhaps the book would be better mentioned elsewhere. I wish I was more up to speed on the subject. --DanielCD 19:28, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
It's possible for more than one article to have the same name. I already pointed that out on the talk page of the article. I think they mostly are fussing about what LM is writing. --FloNight talk 20:04, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
It is bland here without Little Mermaid and the Cat. Maybe I need to do some decorating. FloNight talk 20:04, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

I did a big expansion of this article with the refs there, but I didn't cite eveything as I would end up citing every sentence. The info can be found at those refs. I think this article is fine, but people are adding cite tags to a lot of things. Sure, it could be improved with citations from research, but these sites and info are so general... I'm wondering what your take on it is. Should general info like this need citations, or can the refs where the material came from be sufficient? --DanielCD 21:41, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

I took the tag out. But this is coming up more and more. --DanielCD 21:44, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Are you by chance an Arctophile? --DanielCD 22:00, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I am. The nick name of my first born. --FloNight talk 00:55, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
Sorry if my question above is confusing. I think I fixed the problem though. --DanielCD 00:59, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

How sweet. A li'l poring.

Remember: "Porings move by bouncing up and down and can attack by propelling themselves at other monsters (or, more commonly, at players)." --DanielCD 15:18, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Excellent thing to know. I'll look out for them. : )FloNight talk 15:27, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Cute, but the Fair use patrol is going to throw you to the monsters! Find something bouncy with a free licence. FloNight talk 15:31, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
Darn the fair-use Nazis! --DanielCD 22:57, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

DanielCD, for your purview. Be sure to check all the inline article sources. Want you to make a fully informed Afd vote. FloNight talk 17:08, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

Seems I missed all the action. Article's gone. Wow. --DanielCD 16:15, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
It was well sourced article about a party house. With a picture of an old white frame house (the kind near every large college campus), pictures of the people that party there, a map to the house. It claimed notability as an "underground club" where some supposedly famous bands played? It was amusing. --FloNight talk 16:52, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Theme for the day: scandal

[edit]

Hello DanielCD : ) If you have time, please give a comment about the inclusion of Clay Aiken in the Sex scandal article. Talk:Sex scandal#Clay Aiken Evidently there is an attempt to add gossip about Clay Aiken to several articles. Editors at Clay Aiken worked for weeks to come up with an acceptable compromise, only to have the rejected gossip inserted in Sex scandal.

My newest project. David Edmondson article was started to discuss his resignation. There is no attempt to describe any achievements that made the man famous enough to have an article in the first place. Of course it was added to Corporate scandal article. FloNight talk 16:52, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

OK, I'll peek. Take a look at the frog at Zhe (Cyrillic). He's on a tortilla? --DanielCD 00:20, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Maybe, are you hungry? FloNight talk 00:27, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Aiken stuff doesn't really sound like a scandal. He didn't break any laws or anything or betray anyone. I'll have to read more to see what the complaining is about. --DanielCD 00:23, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

I've helped these guys redesign their project page. I just hope they don't intend to form an edit-pushing group. I would think their motives would be good (AGF!!) but ... sigh. Perhaps it will turn out all right. I don't like the page where they give personal accounts of paranormal experiences though.

--DanielCD 03:05, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

As long as it stays on the project page, I guess it is okay. Well, not really OKAY, since Wikipedia is not a forum. So much better than writing in article space, I'm not going to complain. FloNight talk 03:16, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Yea, I just hope they have the tact to limit it as you say. --DanielCD 03:31, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Was vandalized today: [1]. Call the media! --DanielCD 01:51, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Cute! Sweetest vandalism ever : ) FloNight talk 02:02, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Encyclopedic?

[edit]

Kim Kelly (actress)'s Man Juice Diet. --FloNight talk 02:01, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

That's horrible. Bad, just bad. I can't believe... --DanielCD 03:00, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
That's almost as bad ad the "f" word having its own category: Category:"F". --DanielCD 02:29, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Revert, Revert, Revert...

[edit]

DanielCD, why are you removing very important content from these article? Mona Lisa --FloNight talk 00:10, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

I guess I've just turned the other way... dark side and stuff... --DanielCD 00:23, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

Far-left

[edit]

Do we need a category for far-left politicians? I'm sure there must already be one for left-wing politicians, so why another? Check it out. Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2006 April 21.

--DanielCD 22:57, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

Race and intelligence: another controversial, very-well referenced article I found. --DanielCD 23:50, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

Yikes! A well referenced from one pov it seems to me! FloNight talk 05:59, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

Could use a looking at. I'm trying to fix it up so it doesn't get AfDed. Hopefully the author will be able to provide some more indication of wider notability. Also: see if the pics fit the page on your monitor. On mine, one of the pics seems to be overlapping a line of text. --DanielCD 01:26, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

Images fit my browser. Hopefully it will survive Afd, but I wouldn't bet on it. --FloNight talk 01:49, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

Look at my comments on the relativism part of this discussion and tell me you don't think the old "Doc" is being a little more than asinine. I wish people could politely discuss things instead of attacking each other. I would like a second opinion though. --DanielCD 06:16, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Strong personality for sure. Not sure if they realize how strong they are coming across to other editors. The positive comments were kinda over the top also. : - ) FloNight talk 06:34, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
I still have a hard time with people coming across like that. I don't know, that's one of the reasons I have been weening myself off of Wikipedia. I've actually made some good progress; it doesn't seem to "call" to me like it used to... lol. I refuse to walk on eggshells though. If I hadn't left that statement, I'd still be confused about it. But taking a closer look I see my error. All he had to do was say "take a look at it again, I think you are making an basic error in what is being said." That sounds professional and gets the point across. Generic bitching generic bitching generic bitching.... Glad I have a place to rant at least. --DanielCD 06:56, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
I'm going to be more active editing again. Been getting over my Mother's Day hang over. Big celebration at my house! Had more family around then usual past 2 weeks. FloNight talk 07:39, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Yea, I'm wanting to be involved, but in a focused manner. I'm trying to find just an article or two to focus on. It's when I lose focus that I get into trouble, as I poke my nose into too many things. --DanielCD 17:32, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Interesting category. Wagner was a composer, it's hard to think anyone would be interested in those opposed to his opinions on anything, though he was a rabid anti-semite. But there were lots of those. I had no idea there were so many "anti-wagnerites". I'm not sure anyone would care. It's just odd; I thought I'd point it out. --DanielCD 03:20, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Another Fun Category

[edit]

Category:Anti-Arab people... Are you one...? Do we need to find people who are anti-Arab or is this another one of those categories where there will be endless debates over whether or not someone belongs there? Just keeping you on your toes! --DanielCD 01:33, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Lonely category of one. : - ) FloNight talk 01:36, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Yikes

[edit]

Was it something that I said? Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Simetrical 2 Did not think that this guy had a good grasp of policy and he is very opinionated. Not a good combination. Evidently others agree. I feel bad for him in my nurse-caring-about-stranger mode. I'll bet the disregard that he has for the victims of harassment from Wikipedia Review does not make him a sympathy-invoking person to many editors.FloNight talk 02:20, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Wow, admin election just ain't what it used to be. --DanielCD 02:39, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Wanna Whelk??

[edit]

See two new pics by me at Whelk. I'm sad to see articles like these that are so basic to an encyclopedia get neglected so much, but we didnt even have an image. I decided to take some shells from my last trip to the beach and make it happen. Enjoy!

If you have any suggestions on how I might improve those pics, LMK. They aren't the best examples, and my camera stinks, but hey... I like it, and now we have whelk pics. Call the media! --DanielCD 02:05, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Very nice whelk pic. Folks like you that take pics and upload them to Flickr and Wikipedia are much appreciated. ; - ) Helping us meet the true mission of the Foundation and Wikipedia to make free knowledge available to all. Good work indeed! FloNight talk 02:40, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
It's what I'm best at. The administrative stuff and edit wars give me a headache, but this simple stuff is the Wikipedia I enjoy most. --DanielCD 02:49, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Writing the 'pedia is the reason that we are here. On RFA, I'm constantly amazed by the number of users that do not actually write articles. They spend there time voting in RFA, AFD, re-writing policy, and such. No actual writing of the encyclopedia. It's weird! FloNight talk 03:06, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Hungry?

[edit]

I got you some bacon: Image:CaveBacon.jpg. --DanielCD 18:17, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Sex Panther - This one made me laugh out loud. --DanielCD 03:39, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

It is funny. I needed a good laugh. I liked the movie.

I've been blocking sockpuppets right and left today. Two different banned users. A parade of socks from both. A thankless job that pays nothing but new threads on Wikipedia Review.com. Boo!

What have you been doing? Hanging around in caves? FloNight talk 03:54, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Yea, busy in the real world. But always thinking of Wikipedia when I see something that we could use a pic of. Hoping to start school here in about two weeks. I'll have to check out Wikipedia Review.com, it's new to me. I've been out of the Wikipedia loop quite a bit this last month. --DanielCD 03:57, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Wow, at WikipediaReview.com I see someone there traced all of Will Beback's edits to determine how much time he spends on Wikipedia. I'd turn it around and say that the person who has time to trace someone's edits and calculate the time they spend here needs to find a hobby or something. --DanielCD 04:04, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Agree. :-) There is a thread where banned user Daniel Brandt is threatening to publish #wikipedia IRC chat logs unless I'm desysopped. FloNight talk 04:17, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Wow, the drama never ends. I guess some ppl try to make up for the lack of excitement in their lives by using these little online intrugues to keep themselves entertained and feeling important. --DanielCD 04:19, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

HI

[edit]

A user is "auditing" all my edits. Perhaps I made a few goofs over the years, though I don't even remember this particular one. I stopped editing basically because people don't know how to be diplomatic, but you know the whole story, prolly better than I do by now. I think I am going to cease even the basic stuff. People get power happy on here. I don't know what to think of Wikipedia anymore. --DanielCD 13:33, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

I got a new email and everything. I'll let you know what's up. --DanielCD 13:40, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
All seems better now. Hope you are doing ok. --DanielCD 21:02, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
I guess you are on a Wikivacation. Good for you. The above material was about a Daniel Brandt thing and I guess the bot was his. I was wrong about the above user; his intentions were honorable. It's just that after the events at the beginning of this year, any attack seems to irk me. I'm surprised I still care so much after all this time. It's hard to know who's legit and who's full of S**t! Anyway...I must have goofed in some way. It's embarassing. Have a good one. --DanielCD 14:04, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Master's material

[edit]

Hey there. I'm thinking of focusing on Asperger syndrome for my Master's thesis. Still thinking on it though. --DanielCD 19:40, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Got some time to waste? Check this out: it's the caveman from those Geico commercials and I couldn't resist sharing it. http://www.cavemanscrib.com/ --DanielCD 21:35, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
