Evaluating Articles and Sources:
Primarily, there are 5 points to consider:
- A lead section that gives an easy-to-understand overview
- Provides a good summary/ introduction to the article
- Information is relevant to the subject (i.e. lead section should differ for people/locations/theories/etc.)
- A clear structure
- Well formatted
- Subheadings are in logical order
- Balanced coverage
- Covers all related aspects
- Most relevant/important information is given appropriate attention
- Neutral content
- Coverage of the subject is either objective or presents several perspectives to remain neutral
- Reliable sources
- Sources are trustworthy
- Information from sources is direct (i.e. not an extrapolation based on the source)
