Open Access in Ivory Coast; Institut Universitaire d’Abidjan has signed the Budapest Open Access Initiative – a major declaration in support of Open Access.
Four Open Access journals are published in the country: Synergies Afrique Centrale et de l'Ouest (indexed in DOAJ), African Journal of Neurological Sciences, Afrique Science: Revue Internationale des Sciences et Technologie and Sciences & Nature.
Researchers from Ivory Coast publish articles in international Open Access journals, for example, in 2013, 47 articles have been published with BioMed Central – an STM (Science, Technology and Medicine) publisher which has pioneered the Open Access publishing model – and among them there are highly accessed articles by researchers from ACONDA, Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques, CHU de Treichville, Health Center of Anonkoua-Koute, Hospital of Bonoua, National Institute of Public Health, Programme PAC-CI, Projet RETROCI, Université d'Abobo-Adjame and University of Cocody.
74 articles have been published in Public Library of Science (PLoS) international Open Access journals: PLoS ONE, PLoS Medicine, and PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases.
OMICS Group International registers one article published in open access from Ivory Coast. OMICS Group International was established in 2007 with the aim of making information on Science and Technology "Open Access" to research scholars, students, libraries, educational institutions, research centers and other stakeholders. OMICS Group also organizes 300 international conférences annually across the globe, where knowledge transfer takes place through debates, round table discussions, poster présentations, workshops, symposia and exhibitions.
As of June 2015, there is one OA journal (Sifoe) indexed in the Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources (ROAD). The journal was added to the database in July 2014. ROAD also registers one current OA Repository from Ivory Coast (Portail Documentaire de l'ENS d'Abidjan) which is active since 2012.

[edit]Synergies Afrique Centrale et de l'Ouest is an Open Access journal in Languages and Literatures published by GERFLINT since 2006.
African Journal of Neurological Sciences is an Open Access journal published by the Pan African Association of Neurological Sciences (PAANS).
Afrique Science: Revue Internationale des Sciences et Technologie is an Open Access journal that publishes experimental, theoretical and applied results in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geology and engineering. It aims to serve all scientists except medicine and pharmacology.
Sciences & Nature is an Open Access journal published by the University of Abobo-Adjamé and the National Centre of Research and Agronomy. Subjects covered include agronomy, sciences of the earth, environment, biological, ecological, biochemical, agribusiness, nutrition, health science and techniques.
