Open access in Angola; Researchers from Angola publish articles in international Open Access journals, for example, in 2013, 13 articles have been published with BioMed Central – an STM (Science, Technology and Medicine) publisher which has pioneered the Open Access publishing model – by researchers from Centro de Investigação em Saúde em Angola (CISA), Clínica Sagrada Esperança, Hospital Pediátrico Dr. David Bernardino, Instituto Nacional de Luta Contra SIDA – Ministério da Saúde, Malaria Branch (DPD, CDC), the National Institute of Public Health, Programa Nacional de Controlo da Malária/Ministério da Saúde de Angola and Universidade Agostinho Neto.

Eight articles have been published in Public Library of Science (PLoS) international Open Access journals: PLoS ONE, PLoS Medicine and PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases by researchers from Consultória de Serviços, Estudos e Pesquisas - COSEP Consultória, Doctors with Africa CUAMM Angola, Hospital Divina Providencia, Hospital Pediátrico David Bernardino, Instituto de Combate e Controlo das Tripanossomiases-ICCT/Minsa, Malaria Control Program-SONAMET Clinic and Malaria Control Program, Ministry of Public Health, Uige Provincial Hospital and Universidade Agostinho Neto.

There are currently no OA policies registered in ROARMAP.
