1.Gears -Gears are wheels with evenly spaced teeth around its edge -The gear that is connected to the input axle of a machine is called the driver gear

• Driver gear-A gear causing the movement

-As driver gear meshes with another gear and the gears move together

• Mesh-To link or engage with another gear

-The gear being moved is called the driven gear

• Driven gear-The gear being moved

-The driven gear is connected to the output axle of a machine

2.Spur gears and Counter rotation

-spur gears are gears with teeth like spurs around its edge

• Counter rotation

-When two gears mesh, they rotate in opposite direction from each other -This is called counter rotation -Counter rotation-Two gears that mesh will rotate in opposite direction from each other
