About me

[edit]

I am an American student in the Pacific Northwest and I have been living here for pretty much all of my life. I spend most of my time playing video games and reading. My most played video games at the moment are a First-person shooter called Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege and a MOBA called League of Legends, other games I play on the side are Rocket League and Valorant, . I also often watch live streams on a platform called Twitch. Did you know that the red liquid on beef isn't actually blood but something called myoglobin?[1]

My Wikipedia interests

[edit]

If I were to work on Wikipedia pages, I would probably work on things that relate to my hobbies because those are the only things that really keeps my attention.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

I've had an interest in computer hardware for a long time now. So I decided to evaluate an article related to computer hardware. I visited the Seasonic article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: The overall lack of information, lack of citations, and lack of updates.

Information

[edit]

The page just has an overall lack of information. Vincent Chang, the CEO of Sea Sonic is not mentioned anywhere. Stuff like the technology they use that makes them different from other companies, subsidiaries that they own, the industry that they are in, and financial statistics like stock and revenue could've been added to make the article more informational. The only things that the article tell you about the company is the history, date of when it was founded, where the headquarters is, and what they make.

Citations

[edit]

There is literally only 1 citation. The citation is supposed to be about how they are the first manufacturer to be certified 80% power efficiency, but that link leads to an empty page. Because of that, the entire Wikipedia article isn't credible.

Not up to date

[edit]

At the beginning of the article, they said that Sea sonic only makes power supplies but now they are also making computer cases. In the history section, the latest news is from 2009 where it says that they were the first to get the gold power efficiency rating. But now it's 2021, and there is still no recent news on the page.

Summary

[edit]

Overall, the Sea sonic page isn't very good because there is very little information on the page, nothing seems to be credible as the only thing that is cited leads to an empty page, and doesn't seem very updated because the company history only goes up to 2009.
