Matthew Allen Snider new article content ... Born December 8th, 1969, in Worland Wyoming (pop. 5600) to Father: Paul Olen Snider Sr, and Vicki Allen Snider (McNeese). Parents Divorced in 1974 and Matt went to live with his mother, along with his four brothers, Paul Olen Snider Jr., Roscoe Lee Snider (Lee), and Kevin Eugene Snider, in Riverton Wyoming. After around 1-2 years, Vicki asked Paul to take over custody of Matt, Kevin, and Lee so they went to live with their Father Paul. Olen stayed with his mother as Riverton had better school system than Worland. Matt, living with his father now, lived at 409 Obie Sue Ave, in Worland WY. They lived there for approx. 2 years then Paul married Deloris Dye (Dee), Matt's first step mother. Everything started out alright for the first 3-4 years but then something changed in Dee and her and Matt started having falling outs. Then in 1983, Paul Divorced Dee and began seeing Amalia Hobberstaten (Millie) romantically. Matt had know Millie from before as she was friends with Matt's grand parents, Roscoe Allen and Florence Allen. Matt had always liked Millie as she also lived in Worland and was always kind to Matt when he would see her around town. After a lengthy courtship, Paul finally married Millie in 1986.

The wedding was in a fine Wyoming late spring day and the reception was held at the local golf course dinning room. Matt and his friends enjoyed their fair share of champagne and Matt had to leave early to go to work at the local Bowling Alley.

Matt was a pin mechanic there and had been for a couple of years. His duties included clearing pin jams, basic breakdown maintenance and maintaining the allies oil levels. Matt was very familiar with the bowling alley as his father was a league bowler for Matt's whole life and always bowled on Tuesday and Wednesday night leagues. When Matt was a very young boy he would go to the bowling alley with his father and brother Kevin and play pinball and eat dinner at "June's Restaurant" located in the bowling alley. Matt really liked hanging out down at the bowling alley so when he got a chance to work in the back with a childhood chum, Jason Richards, he jumped at the chance.

Matt and his 2nd step mother got along very well, even after the age of 14 when Matt began to drink alcohol. Millie always stood up for her 'new son' and gave him all her love just like he was her own. Matt has remarked in the past that Millie 'was the only woman who made Mom not a three letter dirty word'.

After Matt began to drink things started to turn for the worst for the young man. He received his first MIP (Minor in Possession of Alcohol) at the age of 14. From then till he was 17, Matt received a total of 9 MIP's. From the last one he spent a total of 6 weeks in the local jail. The first 2 were with an old child hood friend name Duane Martinez. After Duane was released Matt was in there all by hisself. Being a minor, Matt was unable to leagally smoke in the jail, but he became friendly with the night jailer who would give Matt cigarettes and Pepsi and keep him up most of the night with conversation. Matt was released from Jail just a few days before his senior year of school started. Matt's original sentence was for 4 months but the judge, John Worral, released Matt so he could attend school.
