The more than 3000 African Penguins, (Spheniscus demersus) at The Boulders between Simons Town and Cape Point must be one of the most popular destinations to visit in Cape Cape Town. They are also callednua The African penquin is also called jackass penguins because the noise they make resembles the bray of a donkey.

On the beach you will have the opportunity to watch the penguins at close range as they freely wander around in the protected natural environment which is part of the Cape Peninsula National Park.

In 1982 there were only two breeding pairs.
