The 1968–69 season was Manchester City F.C.'s seventy-seventh season of league football, and third consecutive season in the Football League First Division. This season is also considered to be the fourth season of the glory era of Manchester City, which started at the appointment of the managerial partnership of Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison in 1965. In this season, Manchester City won the FA Cup for the fourth time in their history - this remains the most recent time they have collected the prestigious trophy. They also won the Charity Shield for the second time in their history, entering after winning the league the previous season.

This season also marked the first time in City's history that they played in Europe - entering the European Cup, the predecessor of the current UEFA Champions League, they were knocked out in the first round.
