The Spurs Show is a football based podcast hosted by life long Tottenham Hotspur fans Phil Cornwell and Mike Leigh. Phil and Mike are regularly joined by "celebrity" guest Spurs fans such as Paul Whitehouse and Paulo Hewitt. The show won the EPL talk best club podcast and best podcast presenter awards for season 2008/2009[1]
The show usually begins with Cornwell's impressions of the current Tottenham manager (currently it's Harry Redknapp, Aaron Lennon, Tom Huddlestone but also Gus Poyet and Juande Ramos. The podcasts are light-hearted, generally consisting of whinging and moaning about Spurs' ability to bottle completely winnable games. Because of this, Cornwell and Leigh point out that Spurs fans have long been referred to as "gloomy partisans."[2]. Occasionally the show will highlight recent literature on Spurs' legends such as Martin Chivers and John White.
The podcast is produced by Playback Media who also produce podcasts for fans of Manchester United, Liverpool, West Ham and Arsenal.
There is also a "Spurs App" available on the iTunes Store for iPhone and iPod Touches at the price of £2.99.
