Faruk Koca (born April 15, 1964) is a Turkish Former MP, businessperson and sports manager. He was the president of MKE Ankaragücü football team between 2021-2023.
Biography
[edit]After graduation from high school, he worked independently. He was one of the founding members of Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi (AKP). Koca served as a member of parliament in 22. and 23. Grand National Assembly of Turkey. He was also the president of MKE Ankaragücü between 2021-2023. Koca is married and has four children.
Violence incident and arrest
[edit]After the game between MKE Ankaragücü and Çaykur Rizespor played on 11 December 2023, Koca attacked the referee Halil Umut Meler on the pitch. He was arrested and sent to Sincan Prison the next day. Same day, Justice and Development Party referred him to discipline with the request of expulsion from the party. He resigned as president from Ankaragücü on December 11, 2023.[1]
