Hello; My first contribution to Wikipedia was the summer of 2018. I am a prison librarian who is grumpy about the world view collision between Rehabilitation and punishment for people in prison. After I celebrated by tenth year as a prison librarian (2017) I was a bit resentful that so little progress had been done in the United States on reforming from punishment to rehabilitation. After I researched, I found several reformers who had devoted their whole lives working for this reform. However, their names are disappearing from history because the digital age requires a live warm body of a individual person to type their observations and writings into a digital format before their books are lost or discarded for lack of use. Contributing to Wikipedia reminds me of the Irish monks who transcribed scrolls onto animal-skin pages, not even knowing the language they were transcribing.
