Barbara Helen Berger is the author and illustrator of many popular children's picture books, including Grandfather Twilight, When the Sun Rose, and Gwinna.
Biography
[edit]Barbara Helen Berger grew up in Seattle, Washington, where she obtained a BFA in Art at the University of Washington, Seattle. She also went to Yale Summer School of Art & Music and the Tyler School of Art in Rome, Italy. [1]
Her first book was Animalia, which was inspired by illuminated manuscripts. She went on to write and illustrate many more books including A Lot of Otters, All the Way to Lhasa, and Thunder Bunny.
Barbara Helen Berger currently lives on Bainbridge Island in Washington State [2]
