Evan Cortens holds a PhD in musicology from Cornell University, with a focus on eighteenth-century German music, and is currently completing a dissertation on the sacred cantatas of Christoph Graupner. He holds degrees in musicology from the University of Calgary (2006) and Boston University (2008) and his research interests include the computer-aided analysis of musical manuscripts. He spent the summer of 2012 conducting archival research in Darmstadt, Germany supported by the Deutsche Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD). He has published in Eighteenth-Century Music,Notes: Quarterly Journal of the Music Library Association and the Newsletter of the Society for Eighteenth-Century Music and his edition of Johann Samuel Schroeter'sSix Keyboard Concertos, op. 3 was recently published by A-R Editions.
