Vladimir "Vlad" Dracula (played by Gerran Howell) is initially introduced as a meek and shy vampire who wishes that he could just lead a normal life, but is instead known as the "Chosen One" amongst. In series 1, he befriends Robin and Chloe Branagh, two humans who he reveals his secret to. Throughout the series. However, when Ingrid goes on a rampage in the last episode of series 2, Vlad is forced to erase the memories of everyone in Stokely and the family are forced to move again in order to protect themselves from slayers. By series 3, four years have passed and Vlad comes to terms with the fact that he is a vampire and begins honing his powers. Bertrand becomes his assistant and tutor in order to help him use his powers to open the Praedictum Impaver. He also meets Erin Noble, a slayer who pretends to be a newly-bitten vampire and who Vlad develops feelings for. When he finds out about her secret Vlad initially feels betrayed that Erin was lying to him, but they eventually realise their feelings for one another and start dating, much to the dismay of the Count. Later in the series, he calls a ceasefire between the vampires and the slayers but struggles to keep it in order. When Ramanga's daughter, Adze fatally wounds Erin, Vlad is forced to bite her in order to prevent her from dying. This causes Erin to hate him for turning her into a vampire, but it also heightens Vlad's temper and releases a thirst for human blood. Because of his uncontrollable temper, he ends up killing Bertrand in the process.
Count Dracula (played by Keith-Lee Castle) is the father of Vlad and Ingrid, and the head of the Dracula Clan. He is generally shown as loving being a vampire and attempts to get Vlad to accept his inner vampire as well. He shows no respect for Ingrid, because she reminds him too much of her mother and so decides to make Vlad his next successor. He also shows little respect for Renfield such as calling him an idiot after he gives him too much argentalium spray when Vlad turns evil. However, in the series 2 finale he is almost killed by Ingrid and they are forced to flee from Stokely in order to protect themselves from slayers. After four years have past in series 3, the Count is shown to have developed feelings for a human, Alex McCauly, the headteacher of the boarding school that the Count now owns. When Ingrid returns to live with the clan, his fued between them is refueled. After learning of Vlad's plans to call a ceasefire between the vampires and the slayers, he is shown to be completely against it and continues to hunt down humans to feed on.
Ingrid Dracula (played by Clare Thomas) as Ingrid Dracula Vlad's sister. She has no respect for Vlad i.e believing he is not a worthy heir and tries to get back at him and goes as far as to trying to kill him. Dracula shows no respect for her.
