The Guardian Angels Project is a research initiative started in 2010 by EPFL and ETH Zürich to channel research and development in future and emerging ICT. Research areas involved cover nanoelectronics, spintronics, zero power technology. Today, the project encompasses a consortium of 28 partners from university, research institutions and industry collaborating towards the professed goal of creating "autonomous, zero-power, intelligent devices".
The Guardian Angels Project has been named on of the six EU FET Flagship Pilots[1] by Commissioner Neelie Kroes in Budapest on 4 May 2011. It will compete for funding in the newly created FET Flagship Program by the European Union.
