Simon Clark is an English physicist, youtuber, scientific communicator, and author. Clark studied at St Peter's College, Oxford, in physics, and then furthered his studies at University of Exeter, completing his PhD in theoretical atmospheric physics.
In 2010, he created his YouTube channel "SimonOxfPhys" originally guiding students through the process of applying to prestigious universities, mainly aimed at students from disadvantaged backgrounds. As Clark continued his studies, his YouTube channel moved more towards educational content, mainly in the field of atmospheric physics, vlogs of his time at Exeter, as well as general student support for exam preparation and mental health and wellbeing. He then founded the Oxvlog project and co-created a comedy channel and podcast with Daniel Maw, a fellow Exeter graduate. Clark's reputation began to build as a scientific communicator, earning him a range of collaborations across YouTube as well as with the BBC, where he co-presented a series on "Practical skills for carrying out a scientific investigation".
He has also recorded content with professional intuitions nationally and internationally, including Airbus, STFC, and CERN. Clark released his first book in January 2021 entitled, "Firmament", providing a view on the debates surrounding the Earth's climate, from the perspective of an atmospheric physicist, in order to link the two fields.
Alongside his academic work Clark streams gaming content independently, and collaboratively with the The Yogscast, on twitch playing Dungeons and Dragons, Pokémon, and Warhammer.
