Adding a Lead Section
- The New Orleans Pelicans were founded in 2014, after changing the name from the New Orleans Hornets. After moving the New Orleans Jazz to Salt Lake City in 1979, New Orleans did not have an NBA team, until 2002, when the Charlotte Hornets relocated to New Orleans, allowing the New Orleans Hornets to make their debut. The team seemed solid and transitioning well to the relocation. During the team's first few seasons, many changes were made to the roster, the coaching staff, as well as the location, due to the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina. The team temporarily relocated to Oklahoma City while New Orleans was recovering from the natural disaster. In 2007, the team made it back to New Orleans for a full season. After having its ups and downs, the team ultimately traded star player Chris Paul, as well as selling the franchise to Tom Benson. Immediately after the deal, Benson changed the name from the New Orleans Hornets to the New Orleans Pelicans. With the new ownership came a new team, including a new star player, Anthony Davis. Adding Sources to Bipolar I disorder
- Datto, Catherine, et al. "Bipolar II Compared With Bipolar I Disorder: Baseline Characteristics And Treatment Response To Quetiapine In A Pooled Analysis Of Five Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trials Of Acute Bipolar Depression." Annals Of General Psychiatry 15.(2016): 1-12. Academic Search Complete. Web. 9 Feb. 2017.
- "Patients with bipolar II disorder consistently showed a slower response than bipolar I patients to all treatments, based on the week 4 assessments of mean MADRS, CGIS, and HAM-A scores. By week 8, however, the symptom improvements in bipolar II patients approximated those in bipolar I patients for each treatment (Figs. 5, 7, 8). Comparison of MADRS items showed broadly equivalent improvements in the bipolar I and II subtypes."
- === Medication[edit | edit source] === Mood stabilizers are often used as part of the treatment process.
- Lithium is the mainstay in the management of bipolar disorder but it has a narrow therapeutic range and typically requires monitoring
- Anticonvulsants, such as sodium valproate, carbamazepine or lamotrigine
- Antipsychotics, such as quetiapine, risperidone, olanzapine or aripiprazole
- Electroconvulsive therapy, a psychiatric treatment in which seizures are electrically induced in anesthetized patients for therapeutic effect Some antidepressants, like Effexor, have been found to precipitate a manic episode.
