Joseph Ciminera is an American chef and television personality. He is best known as the creator and host of the successful cooking program Taste This! which is currently in it's 14th season on PBS.
Culinary Education and Experience
[edit]Ciminera studied the culinary arts with Master Chef Vincenzo Provino at the "Five Star" Venesia Hotel in Milan, Italy. He has also trained with several renowned chefs including Daniel Boulud, Christian Doulevere, Pierre Manor, Mike Depirito and Jean Louis Pallidan. In addition to his formal training, Chef Ciminera continued to hone his talents by working at several well-known, fine dining establishments including Le Cirque, Les Celebrites, Le Petite Bijou and Carmines.
Taste This!
[edit]In 2003, Ciminera began his television career as the host of his original series, Taste This! The show, which has filmed over 187 episodes, features Chef Ciminera demonstrating some of his favorite recipes in addition to sampling the unique culinary creations of many exciting and talented chefs. The show's 14th season will air in September on PBS.
Ciminera is also credited as an executive producer for other successful cooking shows including The Flaming Greek, Stress Free Cooking, Sophisticated Comfort Food, and Southern Fried Fitness.
Food For Kids
[edit]Chef Ciminera is a vocal supporter of the fight against childhood Obesity in America. In 2010, Ciminera released Food For Kids- a 45 minute educational program aimed at teaching families and children about healthy recipes and eating habits.

[edit]In addition to his contributions to television, Chef Ciminera is also the author of the books In the Weeds- an account of his experiences in the kitchen and Joe Ciminera's New American Cooking: There are No Rules in Cooking- a collection of his popular recipes and cooking philosophy.
