Ogbe-Ani community (Utagba-Ogbe, Kwale)

It is said that the ogbe-ani people are the first to arrive the present Utagba-Ogbe, popularly known as Kwale. There gallant hunters from the old Benin kingdom migrated from Benin to the current Utagba-Ogbe. They are Egbo, Omu-zaga and Okpala-Akpali. Today there are four families in Of Ogbe-Ani community. The Umu-Achi Ossai, Umu-Azaka Anie, Umu-Nzeogbe and Umu-Egwo. History has it that after the Ogbe-Ani people has settled in the present Kwale for hundreds of years, they allowed the people of Utagba-Unor to settle among them. Hence the name Utagba- Ogbe. Meaning the people of Utagba-Unor and Ogbe-Ani people. History has it that the Ogbe-Ani people migrated from a place in the ancient Benin kingdom called Ogbe.
