User:Emma0mb/sandbox/TransLink Bus Fleet

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is not an attempt full article, rather an example of a potential layout for a TranLink bus fleet article to replace the very info dense CMBC fleet article section. Images are not necessarily of the correct models, but I like the idea of doing an outside + interior shot of each model. I have the connections to take interior photos of all the buses without passengers on board if it were decided that this format of article would work.

Coast Mountain Bus Company

[edit]

Summary about CMBC and their bus operations

New Flyer C40LFR

[edit]
New Flyer C40LFR
Would need to make a new infobox template, potentially similar to the automotive template. This can store most of the bus-fan details like engine, transmission, etc
Operation
Began operation2006

Little summary about TransLink's C40LFRs, such as their conversion to diesel and anything notable incidents

maybe some more info over here

and more info down here

I don't really know much about these units, they're based all the way out in PoCo!

New Flyer XDE60

[edit]
New Flyer XDE60
Would need to make a new infobox template, potentially similar to the automotive template.
Interior_of_C-Tran_Vine_bus_towards_front_from_rear_section,_with_bike_racks
This would contain details for all (6) XDE60 orders, which are mostly the same apart from a swap in engine and transmission in 2018, would be represented the same way an automotive infobox with multiple options may be displayed
Operation
Began operation2012

Little thing about the XDE60s.

Supposedly the 2012 was painted a different livery by pure accident, as someone sent the wrong file. No clue if its true but if I can find a source for it, that would probably be included here.

Also, certain XDE60s are designated RapidBus units, with a green livery and 20% more seat padding according to TransLink. However, from my understanding the extra 20% is not real.

Incidents

[edit]

There is certainly more than enough translink XDE60s out and about to have some notable incidents. Though maybe it would be best to include incidents somewhere else. Either via a CMBC/Translink article, or maybe a single incident section at the bottom of this article.

NovaBus LFS

[edit]
NovaBus LFS
TransLink_NovaBus_LFS_(3975971799)
Would need to make a new infobox template, potentially similar to the automotive template.
TransLink_New_Flyer_NovaBus_LFS_front_seat_(3975974091)
Arguably the best seat on a NovaBus
Operation
Began operation2012

Now at this point its a little crowded in terms of infoboxes. Not sure if that would become an issue in the event that not enough verified and notable information is available, and a lot of transit fan data is included. Referencing every single unit in a table to pad it out would reach too far into unverifiable guide territory, which is kind of the whole point of spinning this off into its own article. I Feel like there should be enough information to avoid this, however I have not done

Former Fleet

[edit]

A little thing about previous buses. Not sure if its notable enough, if it should be a separate thing for each operator, or if operators should be separated in the first place, the fleet significantly overlaps between companies.

West Vancouver Municipal Transit

[edit]

Separate company that has its own fleet but is slowly being more and more integrated into translink and cmbc

Not sure if operators should be separated in the first place, the fleet significantly overlaps between companies so it may be better to just note which units are with each operator via the infobox; but again, don't want to put too much info there or else it'll become desynced

Transdev

[edit]

Transdev's involvement with translink is more or less of a footnote on wikipedia, but they do run a fair amount of routes out in the Township of Langley.

once again Not sure if operators should be separated in the first place, the fleet significantly overlaps between companies so it may be better to just note which units are with each operator via the infobox; but again, don't want to put too much info there or else it'll become desynced
