Yave is a mobile-based platform which enables people traveling to the Caribbean to connect with a local. The platform enables travelers to select and co-create activities and experiences that only a local can provide. Yave was created by Aruban-born entrepreneurs Robert Anjie, Ramsis Arends & Edward Erasmus and Curacao-born entrepreneur Sigmar Sommer and was first showcased to the audience during ATECH* Conference 2016 in Aruba.
Meaning
[edit]Yave is a slang used in the Caribbean islands which means "friend", "buddy", "pall" or "somebody you like to hangout with". In the context of the platform, Yave refers to the local host who makes the traveler feel welcome while visiting the destination.
