Natular Clarke won the 2010 Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge for its invention of NatularTM. Natular is an insecticide that uses an organic compound polyethylene glycol to slow release the insecticide so it works for a longer period of time.[1] It is also more stable in water and there for is able to be used in a wider variety of environments. Clarke used a variety of green chemistry principles, they include: less hazardous chemical syntheses, designing safer chemicals, Inherently safer chemistry for accident prevention, and design for degradation.
