8 Slices is a 2019 American Dramatic Comedy film directed by Nick Westfall. Westfall also wrote and executive produced the film. The film stars Jesse C. Boyd, Kathy Searle, and Tyra Colar.[2]
8 Slices premiered at the Durango Independent Film Festival on February 28, 2019 and was officially released May 1, 2019. 8 Slices is currently available on Amazon.[3]

Oscar Wild has created a utopia in his pizza parlor by financially rewarding his employees for reading dense, philosophical books. So much so, each employee changes their name and takes on the nom de guerre of famous existential literary giants (with characters named Jack Berouac, Ann Rann, Albert Kamoo, and Wendy Wittgenstein). The pizza parlor ends up on a Reddit's "Top Ten Best Places to Work in the Service Industry," which catches the attention of Sam Zander, a YouTube star famous for "bashing" people and top tens. With the restaurant on the verge of closing, Sam arrives at an optimal time to "bash" an already sinking ship, but when he starts to see the real human connection the restaurant employees show him and each other, he discovers how "likes," "shares," and "subscriptions" are empty calories compared to 8 slices of pizza.

Production
[edit]8 Slices was developed with the support of Dock Street Productions, Ramfis Myrthil's production company Beast of the East Productions, Lineage Productions, and The Lighthouse Film Company.[5]
Filming commenced early January 2018 in Holden Beach, North Carolina and wrapped later that same month.
Release
[edit]The film made its debut at the Durango Independent Film Festival on February 28, 2019.[6] It was then made widely available March 1, 2019 and later distributed in Brazil August 20, 2019 under Great Movies Distribution.
Reception
[edit]8 Slices was well-received by audiences and was written up by a number of film review companies. UK Film Review's Chris Buick reviewed the film, stating "Westfall has succeeded in creating a smart, quirky, uplifting indie movie".[7]
