About me

[edit]

I'm a Junior, a High school student and a Running Start college student at Everett Community College, my future major is real-estate and I am passionate about this path leading to my goals. Some of my favorite interests are baking in my free time with family and friends, but I also enjoy late night drives, binge watching shows/movies and I love listening to music during anytime of the day. Some other things about me is I'm middle eastern, and I was born in Tripoli, Lebanon, where I also speak two languages, Arabic and English. The Arabic language is the sixth most spoken language in the world.[1]

My Wikipedia Activities

[edit]

In my English class, we are learning on improving and developing skills to create Wikipedia articles of our interests, and I have been browsing around and thinking of the type of content I would create over the long term, especially in cars. The sort of articles I would like to make and evolve from are the new model of cars and under the category of electric, self driving cars and newer cars in general 2022, and the improvement of cars over the years to present day. And since I don't know much about cars but I love to drive, this passion will allow me to explore and learn more about cars and different brands/companies. Some future ideas I would like to write articles about are Tesla's and a Mercedes Benz since they are popular today, I think it would be interesting and fun to create an article about them. Thank you for visiting my user page.

Article evaluation

[edit]

I've recently been interested in the new iPhone 14 by Apple, and as an apple owner of a few products, I can say that I know a decent amount of knowledge about iPhone's and what they are like. But before considering of purchasing the iPhone 14, I wanted to visit a Wikipedia page to finalize my decision and I am curious to see if Wikipedia will provided reliable and trustworthy sources. So I visited the iPhone 14 page on Wikipedia and found 3 aspects that should be talked about: Photos of product not being included, lack of citations, and is a neutral article.

Photos of product

[edit]

As I read through the article, I noticed that even the article being recently edited as of October 12, 2022, there isn't any photos included nor provided for people or even for those who are wanting to consider to purchasing an iPhone 14. For example, this article about the iPhone 14[2] includes visuals and shows people what they should be expecting from this new device. People visiting the page are not able to be visually introduced to the newest device such as the new main features included, how the home screen and the big changes that have been updated look like. I think it is important to show the product especially, if it's owned and created by one of the most popular companies world wide, and there are most likely for people to be new to Apple, and are trying to find more information online about the device.

Citations

[edit]

As I was scanning through the article, I also have noticed a lack of citations and not linking to other articles/websites on where they got their resources from and so it made me a little bit skeptical about trusting their facts and new updates and the little details that were made. For example, the article stated "the physical SIM tray is removed." and there were no citations attached that proved this fact. Although, the underwhelming of citations not being included for some context, I understand that the iPhone 14 has just came out worldwide, and it hasn't been out for long enough to gather more information and confirmation about some sources so therefore, I can see and wrap around the fact that not many sources can be available or even be existed for some details that was in this article.

Neutral article

[edit]

The article is greatly written with the correct grammar and not too difficult to comprehend and understanding the features about the iPhone 14. I feel like there are many articles that just don't make sense and don't provide the right resources of what they are talking about and it confuses the reader. But, for this article I think it is fairly published and can target many age audiences, the article also gets straight to the point about describing the iPhone and the main features that people are looking for, and there aren't any grammar errors that could not satisfy the readers, but the article does make people feel encourage to keep reading, and finding more information about the phone. So overall I think the article was carefully and reasonably written.

Conclusion

[edit]

Overall, I can say that this article is decently okay, it includes reasonable and correct information about the newest iPhone 14 and has is a neutral article and has no grammar errors and helps satisfies people to browse around and learn new things about the device. Although it is a regularly written article, the lack of citations were a bit disappointing and had me thinking twice to see if an information was correct but I understood the fact that the iPhone is fairly new and not many other articles have even enough information. Lastly, it's mainly missing an important piece of what I think as a reader coming across this Wikipedia page, I would hope to expect some photos to see what I've been looking for and unfortunately, this article didn't include any and I think this reason is mainly my rating is in the middle because it can be significantly better if people were able to be introduced with pictures to explore and inspect.
