Electra A. Lites aka Chad A. Stoffan (October 8, 1984) is an American Drag Queen and founder of Divine Lites Production. Other than being the founder of Divine Lites Productions, she was the 1st Drag Queen to be involved with the Heidelberg Projects, White & Berger, and Detroit Fashion Week Fashion Shows and former show director of Club Distractions in Toledo, OH...Spirits on High (La Barca) in Columbus, OH.... and Stilettos in Inkster, MI.
Electra started performing on Valentines Day 2003 at Bretz Bar in Toledo, OH for their 15th Anniversary with former show director (and my late drag mother) Prissy Divine, Nadirah Desmond Vega and Bianca Stratford. She loved that experience and hasn't stopped since that night. She took guest spots and participated in open-mic contests in Ohio and Michigan just to get her name and face out in the public.
In June of 2003, Electra was offered the show director position of the newly gay and renovated Club Distrations on Sylvania and Upton in Toledo, OH. She was very excited to start out and get Distractions on the map. She recruited then boyfriend and fellow drag persona, September Starr and friend Jasmine Michaels to help her out and join her show cast. July 28, 2003 rolled around faster than she thought and BAM, 1st show. Opening the 1st show ever at Distractions with Electra performing Norah Jones "Don't Know Why" this was the beginning of a great thing. Electra included many of her friends and drag family in with her shows, including but not limitetd to Dakota Desmond Rose, Amber Stone, Nadirah Desmond Vega, Deja Danger (now Delletaro), Holly Wood, Hershae Chocolatae (no relation to the Hershey's Chocolate empire) [1], Aaliyah Moore, Felicianna Thunderpussy and of course her drag mother Prissy Divine. Although Electra was in heaven with her new found fame, her daytime job required her to relocate to Columbus, OH in Feburary of 2004.
Electra wasn't happy with this, but looked at it as an oppourtunity to expand her horizon and look for new venues to perform in. She spread out to Detroit, Flint & Port Huron, MI and down to Columbus, OH she went. Still performing in Toledo and Michigan, she decided to look in Columbus for a place to call her own. She found The Birdcage at the old Columbus Eagles and did a guest spot with Columbus' own Fancy Punasti. This excited Electra until she went to look for a bar that would allow her to put on her own shows. She found Spirits on High (La Barca) on High St. in the Short North area of Columbus, OH on Valentines Day 2005. Working with the owners of this Latino establishment and getting shows together, Electra Lites premiered with her Comedy Style Drag Show on February 14, 2005 with her Drag Sister, Tina Jade Marlo and former drag child, Mikala Lites. The crowd consisted of about 20 people, but each following week, grew to over 75. Two months into Electra's shows, the owners of Spirits on High gave Electra a 3 night week show. This just pushed Electra to work harder to maintain her success. Bringing in entertainers from Toledo and Detroit was what she had to do. In the a little over a year Electra was at Spirits, she entertained with Detroit Legend Jennifer Foxx, Jennifer Holliday Chanel & Prissy Divine. Also including local entertainers, Nea Jordin, Estra Gen, Star Lites, Tina Jade Marlo and numerous local strippers joined Electra for every one of her shows. Electra had much success with Spirits, but due to her having her identity stolen (not actually Electra but her male counterpart, Chad) Electra was forced to make a decision. Stay in Ohio with the problems surronding her identity theft or find a new stomping grounds. So, on February 17, 2006 she had her farewell to Columbus show which included all of her friends and family there to wish her adieu.
Electra, in her own state of shock, decided that moving in with her Drag mother, Prissy Divine in Detroit, MI was the best thing for her. So up to Michigan she went. Performing anywhere she could get into, she found lesbian bar Stiletto's in Detroit suburb of Inkster. Two rival bars in the Detroit area, Electra knew she would have to play her cards right if she wanted to get into one of these extremly popular drag spots. With the help of her mother, Prissy, Electra premiered at Stilettos as a non paid guest spot. After numerous non paid guest spots, Electra was offered a paid spot for Stilettos "Disney" themed show, performing a Helen Reddy remake of Disney's "Pete's Dragon" hit, Candle on the Water by That's So Raven Star Anneliese van der Pol. This show launched Electra into the big time with Stiletto's. The owner booked Electra out 3 months with shows up to 4 nights a week alos allowing Electra to host numerous Country Themed Shows, Love Shows, Gangsta Themed Shows, Sex Toy Parties, 80's & 90's Themed Shows, Toys-4-Tots & S.I.D.S. Benefit Shows as well as hosting the Superbowl Party, Valentine's Days Shows, Halloween Shows and many more. Stiletto's also led Electra to the Oakland University Gay/Straight Alliance Show & The Heaven & Hell Fetish Ball. Due to money issues with the owner, Electra decided on Halloween of 2008 to part ways with Stiletto's and pursue her bigger dream of founding a company that put on "Vegas" styled shows in a much larger venue. This company would soon turn into Divine Lites Proudctions.
Electra found The Majestic Theatre Majestic Theater (Detroit, Michigan), a historic theatre having two seperate performance venues. Electra and a co-owner of the Majestic Theatre Complex set forth to start this historic event. The 3 month process began, Finding entertainers worthy of this Vegas style event, finding sponsors, and then getting the word out was a long and difficult process. January 9, 2009 marked the day that the historic Majestic Theatre would debut Divine Lites Productions Presents "Diva's of the Majestic." Along with longtime friend Hershae Chocolatae, CeCe Daniels, and Drag-King, Tre Masters, Electra and a few others shimmied, shaked and danced the night away. Packing the Magic Stick was just the beginning for Electra. She was gun-ho on making the next "Diva's" show an even more success. Bringing back Hershae, CeCe & Tre was something Electra did to ensure that same success, They were such big hits with the crowd and she knew that this was the best for the show. Buying more advertising space, getting Red Bull to Sponsor the shows, and not sparing any expense, Electra was ready for the 2nd show. Having people waiting in line to get in was just what she wanted and thats what she got. A sold out crowd for the 2nd time. Electra was too excited for this turnout that she started to plan the next show, which she decided would be for Detroit's Metro Pride on June 7, 2009. Electra wanted to make this Pride show the best of the best, so she decided to invite Famous Transexual, Amanda Lepore Amanda Lepore to entertain the gays of Detroit. [2] This Pride show also marked the one year anniversary of Electra's Drag mother, Prissy Divine's death (something that to this day still breaks Electra's heart). Hershae, CeCe & Tre (of course) and now with Amanda Lepore would mean a fantastic show, and that was exactly what it was, FANTASTIC! Amanda had performed a medley of her songs with incorporating her dancing in as well. She was a great hit with the Detroit fans, and her and Electra hit it off. After the Pride Show, Electra and Traci Zainea parted ways but Divine Lites Productions is still in effect and now based in Columbus, OH. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]
Electra had moved back to Columbus after the one year anniversary of her drag mother, Prissy's, death and currently resdies in Columbus, OH.
In February of 2010, Electra was getting ready for a night out in Columbus and slipped in a parking lot and broke her hip (she was only 25 at the time) and this has left her unable to perform. She recovered and returned in September of 2010 for the Detroit Fashion Week Fashion Show at the Fox Theatre Fox Theatre (Detroit, Michigan).
She won her first Title, Miss Cocktail's Cleveland Newcomer in 2012.
