The 2024 Chicago White Sox season is the club's 125th season in Chicago, their 124th in the American League and their 34th at Guaranteed Rate Field. It was their first full season under general manager Chris Getz. Considered among the worst seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) history,[a] the White Sox set or tied several ignominious league and franchise records, most notably the most losses in the modern era, with 121 losses. Other records set included the most losses before the All-Star break (71), the fastest assurance of a losing season (82 losses in 109 games), and the earliest elimination from playoff contention since the introduction of the League Championship Series (August 17). The White Sox also tied the existing records for longest losing streak in the American League (21 games, set by the 1988 Baltimore Orioles) and the worst start since the introduction of the wild card (3–22, set by the 2003 Detroit Tigers).
