KUNENE RIVER
[edit]The Kunene river is situated in the north of Namibia, in Kaokoveld. The river starts its flow in the west highlands of Angola, the river is 1 050km in length. It has a steep graident which form a deep glacial valley, at the bottom of this valley two waterfalls form, which are Ruacana and Epupa falls. Epupa fall is the main waterfall and carries most the water compared to Ruacana. The fall is 60m high and 1.5km in width. The Cinderella waxbill (Estrilda thomensis) and the Rufoustailed palm thrush (Cichladusa ruficauda),the two most uncommon birds in southern Africa are found here.
