List of ancient families of Argentina:

At the beginning of the 20th century, a group of powerful families, mostly residents of Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, constituted a political and economic elite that concentrated most of the wealth and power of that country in their hands.

Of very diverse origin, some descendants of the old colonial families, others of fabulously wealthy successful immigrants, or of prominent politicians or military men, the beginning of the 20th century found them constituting a true social class, a true "aristocracy", linked to each other by marriages in the last two generations.

With refined and Europeanizing tastes, with his gaze fixed on Paris, his endless "estancias", his palaces in the capital, his trips and stays in Europe and his marriages with the European nobility, everything proclaimed his success, in a time when Argentina was one of the richest countries in the world.
