The TGV Dasye is a French high-speed train model manufactured by Alstom and operated by SNCF. It is an evolution of the TGV Duplex series
They are double-decker trains with a maximum speed in commercial service of 320 km/h (200 mph). They are designed to cover international services, since they support security and electrification systems that are used outside France. Dasye comes from "Duplex ASYnchrone ERTMS". They are classified as the 700 series of the SNCF.
Characteristics
[edit]The series is aesthetically similar to the TGV Duplex, and incorporates technology from the seriesTGV POS, as a new traction with asynchronous motors or the presence of the system ERTMS.
The engines of the 701 composition arrived on the track in 2006, and were tested with the trailers of the 619 composition. He obtained his full approval on February 14, 2008. In total, 52 compositions were commissioned, which began to be delivered in 2008 and continue to be manufactured today.
The interior layout has new blue colors and plugs in the seats, while the rest is very similar to the series, TGV Duplex.
Lines that use TGV DASYE
[edit]This model aims to increase links with the south, especially with Spain through the Perpignan-Figueras high-speed line and the High-speed line Barcelona-French border. The rest of the Duplex compositions cannot enter Spain because they do not have the security system. ERTMS.
It is also planned to be used on the Rhine-Rhône line, which is built between Dijon and Mulhouse, and whose completion is scheduled for December 2011.
