EDWARD D. ROCKSTEIN: Ed4linda is my user name and I sign as Doc Rock. I am retired from the Federal government and used to teach Korean language part time as a government contractor. I have a BA from Indiana University in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures with a major in Korean and minor in Japanese. I have my MA from Princeton, Department of Oriental Studies, with a major in Korean and minors in Japanese and Chinese. My PhD is also from Princeton, Department of East Asian Studies, with a major in Korean literature and minor fields of Tang-Sung poetry, Korean history, and Chinese intellectual history. My dissertation was The Sijo Poetry of Pak No-gye. I also have an MS in International Security Studies from the College of Naval Warfare, United States Naval War College. I taught Korean language and literature for five years at Indiana University and Japanese language and literature for one year at Colby College.
I am originally from Riverside, NJ. My interests, besides Korean history, include the Central Asian Turkic and Mongol peoples and their history--whose influence on Chinese history Wolfram Eberhard emphasized in his A History of China. I am also a genealogy junkie.
