About Me

I'm a student at Everett Community College and a member of the Youth Re-Engagement Program on campus. The program offers free college and a high school diploma to young adults who never graduated high school. I am an Aircraft Maintenance Technician that recently received a Powerplant license from the FAA that legally allows me to perform maintenance on aircraft engines and electronics in accordance with 14CFR part 65.87(a). In addition, I also received an Avionics certificate to verify that I work on aircraft electronics as well. I enjoy drawing, story writing, singing, playing instruments and snowboarding as hobbies.

My Wikipedia Interests

If I become an editor for Wikipedia in the future, I would most likely edit and write articles related to video games, entertainment, locations in Washington State, music, and aviation.

Article Evaluation

I was interested in Klaypex because they were the first real EDM artist I came across that got me into the genre. Now, EDM is my favorite genre of music to listen to because of this artist. I visited the Klaypex article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: it's lack of citations, dead citations, and left out information.

Missing Citations

There are few citations in the total article. The first one needed is for the first main paragraph. There is no good citation for who Klaypex is composed of, their alternate artist names, or their releases. There are plenty of wiki links in the paragraph for genres, but only one citation for the Top Heatseekers Billboard chart. Under History, six paragraphs are missing citations. It appears that nost the citations needed for the article are listed in the "Further Reading" category just under "References".

Dead Citations

I'm finding more than one dead citation in this article. The Top Heatseekers Billboard chart mentioned earlier is a dead link. Some other dead links are...

A few of the citations listed use the WayBackMachine to keep three references accessible. the "Klaypex – I Walk Alone (Remix Pack)" link leads to http://electricsloth.com/, which holds no relation to Klaypex or their music.

Information Left Out

I'm surprised that there was never any mention of the animated music videos (AMV) that Klaypex did for some of their singles. "Oil Spill" had an AMV of Klaypex successfully recreating Frankenstein's monster, animated by Zeurel. "Sauce Boss" had an AMV collaboration with Epic Meal Time also animated by Zeurel. One track, "Brains", was never even mentioned, yet it featured Kings High and was about a father in a zombie apocalypse searching for his daughter while fighting off zombies. This was animated by Oryozema. "New Kids" and "Satellites" from "The Future" EP also featured 3D animation, both animated by Aristomenis Tsirbas. The singles "Shotgun", "Jump", "Lighthouse", "Abyss", "Feel Alright" and their remix of Katy Perry's "ET" are nowhere to be found on the Wikipedia article.

Conclusion

It seemed that much information was either missing or misplaced with this article, with the most problems involving citation rather than something like spelling or grammatical errors. But, since the artist was not very popular and discontinued in 2016, it seems logical that articles once accessible at the time would diminish unnoticed until now. Regardless, the article should have still included the animations that tied with the songs Klaypex wrote and the full list of their singles.
