Welcome!
[edit]Hello, E4043, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links I've found useful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.
Also, you don't (always) need to defend your edits on the discussion page, but you should always put a brief explanation of your edits in the Edit summary -- that's the best place to defend your edits before anyone questions them! By the way, I've found it useful to check 'Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary' under 'Editing' in 'My preferences' to remind me to always fill in the field.
One of the most important things I've learned here is not to take subsequent edits of my edits personally. This is a collaborative process, and I often learn from the way other people read what I've written.
Again, welcome! Renice 20:12, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
