Hi, I'm Dylanx300! I am a finance and computer science professional, but I have hobbies and interests and knowledge covering a wide variety of subjects. I enjoy contributing to Wikipedia to help ensure the accuracy and completeness of information, and to do my part to help prevent vandalism and the the spread of misinformation. After two decades of learning from the articles here, it is my little way of giving back when I can to make this a better place for all of us in order to help us find accurate and freely available information. Here are a few things about me:
Academic Interests:
Computer science, finance, botany, history, music, physics, technology, engineering, chemistry.
Hobbies:
Lutherie, playing guitar, fly fishing, botany, whitewater kayaking, hunting, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering (building aerobatic STOL RC planes, and drones), fly tying, 3D printing, outdoorsmanship, woodworking and craftsmanship.
Expertise:
Financial engineering, derivatives trading, computer science and programming, software development, web design and relational databases, plus hobbies above.
Recent Contributions:
[edit]
- Reverted vandalism on the article about Ethoxyquin, a potentially harmful chemical that is used as a food preservative in some countries. This article has been the subject of repeated vandalism, likely from people in the industry, with anonymous editors attempting to suppress information about this chemical which frequently ends up in the fish we eat (and feed to our pets).
- Improve the quality and accuracy of articles.
- Participate in Wikipedia projects and discussions as time permits to help maintain a healthy editing environment.
- Assist new users in learning how to edit and contribute to Wikipedia effectively, when needed.
