About Me

My name is Josh, I'm 35 years old, and I am a graduate student at Vanderbilt University Divinity School, in Nashville, Tennessee. I'm married and I have a nine year old son. For six years, I was the Ranger Sergeant in charge of protection for the Bull Run Watershed.

I am a member of the Churches of Christ, which are a part of the Stone-Campbell Movement.

Academic Interests

My main academic interest is American Religious History, especially the history of the Stone-Campbell Movement, also known as the American Restoration Movement. Some of my research interests in this field are:

• Socialism and Pacifism among Churches of Christ at the beginning of the 20th Century.

• The influence of the American Civil War on the division between the Disciples of Christ and the Churches of Christ

• The Christian Connexion, its proper relationship to the Restoration Movement, and its eventual merger into the United Church of Christ.

I am also very interested in American History, especially the Civil War. Even though I am a pacifist, I very much enjoy reading about the military history of the Civil War era.
