In the beginning, I started reading with DC comics in 1965. I was 4 years old. My favorite comic is Justice League of America.

  With the obvious exception of the Giffen/Dematteis years (also known as the decade without a real Justice League) the stories have been good, generally uplifting in their overall tone as regards race, handicap/disability, and the issues of right and wrong.  In my opinion, while certain characteristics might have been established as existing in a given characters comic, in the various incarnations of JLA is where those characteristics were developed to a degree that seems to have been previously impossible.
