Considered a substantial work by Horner. Closed 2014, against the wishes of its parishioners. arts group had significant funding including £1.8m from National Lottery. Victorian Society raised concerns about the "effective total destruction of its surviving mid-Victorian interior" when the group applied for listed building consent in 2020. The cosnent was granted on the condition that th pews, chancel benches, font and pulpit remain somewhere within the buidling. Organ was built by Nicholson & Co Ltd in 1899 and was funded by parishioners. Grade II listed in the non-statutory British Institute of Organ Studies Historic Organ Listing Scheme for its speical historical anmd musical importance. It had been suggested that the organ would be relocated to another site.[1]
