Biography
[edit]LaCroix was born in 1989 in New Bedford, Massachusetts. His parents separated when he was a child. His mother became addicted to drugs, and died of an opioid overdose when LaCroix was 5 years old. Following the mother's death, his father took custody, but had to work multiple jobs to support the family; leaving all household responsibilities, including rearing his younger brother, upon LaCroix. According to Scott Shapiro, these circumstances weighed heavily on the adolescent LaCroix, leading to deleterious effects on the child's psyche.
