Ahmet Selçuker (born November 22, 1956) is a Turkish-American businessman, engineer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist originally from Istanbul, Turkey. He is known for his work as the CEO of the Selcuker Group of Companies which operate across a wide range of privatized sectors ranging from real estate to construction.

Early Life and Education

His father Kemal was an electrical engineer and his mother Enise (formerly Mergen) was a corporate lawyer. Ahmet Selçuker studied at Galatasaray Lyceum, an elite boarding school in Istanbul, Turkey. After completing his Metallurgical and Materials Engineering studies and graduating the Istanbul Technical University in 1981, Selçuker eventually got his Master’s degree from Penn State University in electroceramics.

Early Career

Upon graduating, Selçuker started working for Centre Engineering Inc. at State College, PA as a Process Engineer for the manufacturing of MLC capacitors until 1983. Selçuker then moved to Vitramon Inc. (now Vishay Intertechnology Inc.) which manufactures discreet semiconductors and passive components. He worked his way from Research Engineer to Senior Research Engineer doing R&D projects and publishing scientific articles at several conferences both domestically and in Europe. While working, Selçuker also took courses in Corporate Finance, financial trading, and market analytics at NYU and the New York Institute of Finance. When he moved back to Turkey in 1995, Selçuker started trading locally as well as in European markets. He joined his family's real estate business, founded by his father, and created and expanded Selçuker Companies.

Selçuker Group

Selçuker Group Companies operate across a wide breadth of privatized sectors ranging from real to commercial estate, from agro-businesses to construction, as well as solar energy production. Originally established as a real estate investment company in 2010, Selçuker Group quickly expanded to encompass many regions of the Turkish economic system. Now, the company is a dynamic enterprise that aims to provide its customers with innovative services while maintaining a humanitarian connection with its community. The group was substantially affected by the financial crises in Turkey during 2008 and 2018, especially due to the collapse of the value of the Turkish lira and rising interest rates. The group recovered from the financial impacts incurred by the crisis in 2018 by downsizing its asset base to avoid any defaults to financial institutions and is increasing its investments into food and agricultural production to meet the demands of the Turkish economy during the coronavirus pandemic. The individual companies that comprise Selçuker Group are designed to stimulate economic growth across many sectors in the country of Turkey while the company itself grows.

Selçuker Real Estate Investment Inc.

Selçuker Real Estate Investment Inc. (Selçuker Gayrimenkul Yatırım AŞ - SGY) operates in real estate investment. SGY overlooks the management of Selçuker Group properties, such as the Selçuker Center, and also searches for beneficial real-estate opportunities for the company.

Selçuker Rental Management Inc.

Selçuker Rental Management (S|K|Y) manages the Selçuker Center shopping mall while offering advice and consulting to outside investors regarding rentals and sales of properties. The Services include but are not limited to: Consulting corporate users Investment management and consulting services Developing tenant concepts Office Resident Management

Rameks

Rameks represents the touristic backbone of the group. Furthermore, Rameks manages Selçuker Energy which supplies Selçuker Farms with solar energy and sells electricity to the Turkish National power grid system.

Risk Consulting Inc.

Established in 1995, Risk Consulting INC (Risk Yonetim Danismanlik AS) was initially a risk consulting company until 2015 when it transitioned to the livestock sector, where it manages other Selcuker Group companies.

Selçuker Media Company AŞ

Selçuker Media Company (SMY) was established in 2017 and aims to modernize traditional Turkish music while respecting and preserving its origins. The production company completed a 3-year contract with the EMI-Universal companies and produced the album "Altın Şarkılar". The company also produced the Infinite Bosphorus Project, an experimental techno work, with DJ Ravin and published it jointly with Emi-Universal in 2018.

Selçuker Center

Selçuker Center is a strip mall located in Konya, Turkey. Itis the largest project completed by the Selcuker Gayrimenkul Yartirim company. The 23,700 m2 strip mall, opened in 2017, is home to many stores, restaurants, and event spaces.

Selçuker Farms

Selçuker Farms (Selçuker Çiftliği) is a 22-acre farm located in Altınekin, Konya, Turkey. The farm primarily focuses on raising beef cattle and uses crops grown onsite to feed the animals. Selçuker Farms has a 3,000 cow capacity and grows corn, barley, alfalfa, and cereals to feed the animals. The farm also produces milk from the animals, and the excess manure is used to manufacture manure through the Nutraorganic brand name.

Selçuker Energy

Selçuker Energy is the solar energy company managed by Rameks that produces solar energy for Selçuker Farms and sells electricity to the Turkish National Power Grid System.[16] Nutraorganic Fertilizer utilizes the excess manure from Selçuker Farms to produce fertilizers for a variety of plants in a sustainable manner.

Philanthropy

Ahmet, along with his father and brother, Mehmet Selçuker, founded Selçev in 2011 (Selçuker Education and Aid Foundation). Selçev is a charitable organization that provides full academic scholarships to students in low-income families.
