Dr. K K Aggarwal is a well-known cardiologist and senior physician. Presently, he is the Senior Consultant Physician and Cardiologist and Dean of the Board of Medical Education Moolchand Medcity, New Delhi , India. He is the Founder, Trustee and President of Heart Care Foundation of India and Chairman Ethics Committee Delhi Medical Council. He has served Delhi Medical Association as its president and Indian Medical Association as the Honorary Finance Secretary for the year 2007-2008 and also remained the Chairman of IMA Academy of Medical Specialities and Director of IMA AKN Sinha Institute. He's a gold medalist in MBBS and MD from MGIMS Wardha, (Nagpur University). He's a pioneer in introducing Clot Dissolving Streptokinase Therapy in India along with Dr. K L Chopra in 1984. He's also known for organizing the 'Perfect Health Mela' every year since 1993. He's a Member, Editorial Board of Echocardiography, Journal of Cardiovascular Ultrasound and Allied Techniques (USA) since 1990. Padma Shri, Dr B C Roy National Award and Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award recipient, the Paul Harris Fellow, apart from several other prestigious awards, Dr. K K Aggarwal, is serving the Humanity and Social causes as Senior Consultant Internal Medicine and Cardiology and Dean Board of Medical Education Moolchand Medcity. He is also a leading Senior Physician, Cardiologist and Mind Body Consultant and a World Class Clinical Echocardiographer.
Dr Aggarwal has been an innovator in the medical and scientific field, an ardent campaigner for health awareness, a humanist who has given priority in treating the less-privileged and the first to conceptualize the “Perfect Health Mela” held annually where thousands who cannot afford specialists, consultants or costly tests are examined and treated. A medical practitioner with a difference, he is a multifaceted healer and a soul preacher. Dr Aggrawal promotes and integrates all systems of medicine. He also established the department of Holistic Medicine at Apollo hospital in 2000.
Campaigns and Innovations for public well-being:
1. He started the clot dissolving streptokinase therapy along with Dr. K L Chopra for the first time in the country in 1984.
2. Started the techniques of Colour Doppler Echocardiography in North India in year 1988 and Live 3D Echocardiography in North India in 2005.
3. He conceptualized and organized the first ever (1993) and then annually “Perfect Health Mela” and “Run for your Heart” in 1991. On both these occasions, Govt. of India released National Postal Commemorative Stamps (INR 6.50 & 1 respectively).
4. In the public health field he was the first in the country to innovate public health modules in the field of health awareness.
5. He was responsible for the training on first aid and CPR for all PCR vans in Delhi during Raja Vijay Karan’s tenure as police commissioner;
6. He trained DTC drivers on First Aid under Department of Transport.
7. He trained students and school principals on subjects like HIV-AIDS, road safety under Delhi Government. Outstanding contributions towards public health:
8. Prepared and released practical guidelines for the general public during the epidemics of Dengue, Plague, Meningococcal Meningitis, Leptospirosis, Epidemic Dropsy, Bird Flu, HINI Flu etc.
9. An awareness stirrer, he has designed over 1000 one liner health sutras, which serve as thumb rule for the purpose of health understanding (example food of plant in origin contains no cholesterol).

Displaying rare vision and imagination he has conceptualized disease specific camps on PSA, TSH, obesity and osteoporosis camps; designed advertisements for various Delhi Government campaigns; created new logo for Allopathy (red wheel with Rx sign) that was adopted by Delhi Medical Association and advocates the inclusion of financial health in the definition of heath. The Perfect Health Mela organised by him at Talkatora Gardens with Delhi Administration 1993 was declared as the best event in Asia by BBC News. Ministry of Family Welfare and later the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and later it adopted this Module under the National Health Policy.
Special mission for weaker sections
His deep-rooted concern for the weaker sections made him conceive the concept of life saving drug bank, pacemaker bank and free health check up camps. He organised free pacemaker camps (1990 – 96) with Project Pacer International, a US based NGO, where 25 to 30 free pace makers were free implanted annually. Currently he runs a Heart Care Foundation Helpline and Heart Care Foundation Drug Bank. He has tied up with Helpline Pharmacy where all the drugs are given at 50% of MRP Prize and arranges heart devises at 30-60% of the market prizes for the needy.

A creative writer and a pioneer in medical journalism, he has been prolific in writing on community health subjects. He regularly sensitizes public on Do’s & Don’ts on prevention. He has contributed over 400 articles in newspapers and magazines and is regularly invited by Radio and television channels to talk on health issues. He is one of the most quoted doctors in the field of health--over 12,000 times in the National Media. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the IJCP Group of Publications – with over 30 journals, Newspapers and health care educational products catering to doctors.
He organized the first ever film stars’ Chat Show on Health in December 1993; utilized film premiers to create health awareness with films like ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke’, ‘Karam Yoddha’ & used the film ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anadi’ created awareness on HIV/AIDS. The slogan “I am Anadi. If I Use Condom I’ll Become Khiladi” by Akshay Kumar became the talk of the town. Special Medical accomplishments
During his MBBS he did special trainings in Clinical Rheumatology and Cytogenetics at AIIMS under Dr A N Malaviya (1982) and Leprosy Immunology at JALMA Agra (1982). He did his research fellowship in Echocardiography at University of Alabama at Birmingham USA (1987); training in Pediatric Echocardiography at Mount Saini Hospital New York (1987), training in Vascular Doppler Ultrasound at Oakwood Medical Center, Detroit (1987). He also trained in Spiritual Medicine and became a Certified Meditation Teacher under Dr. Deepak Chopra from San Diego in 1988. After his MD Medicine he joined Moolchand Hospital in 1983 and became a consultant after five months of residency by getting out of turn promotion.
Academic History
He is a recipient of 18 medals. He topped in MBBS course at Nagpur University in first and second years and was a topper in the final amongst male candidates. He topped Nagpur University in the aggregate of all the MBBS marks taken together and received two University gold medals. During his MBBS study he received distinctions in Physiology, Ophthalmology, Forensic Medicine and a medal in every subject (four Gold Medals, nine Silver Medals, and five Bronze Medals). At MGIMS Sevagram he was declared as the Best Graduate of the College in 1979.
Researches
He has contributed to six chapters in International Textbook on Echocardiography (Navin C Nanda). He also has 14 International Publications (Am J of cardiology, Circulation, Journal of Medicine and Echocardiography- A Journal of Clinical Ultrasound), 115 publications in Indexed National Journals (namely JAPI, Indian Heart Journal, Indian Journal of Heart Research) and Over 350 publications in review Indian Journals.
