M-4 highway ([Magistralni put M-4] Error: {{Langx}}: text has italic markup (help)) is a Montenegrin roadway. It was built as part of the larger Risan–Žabljak highway (Magistralni put Risan–Žabljak), which consists of the M-4 highway, portion of the M-6 highway east of Vilusi, portion of the M-18 highway north of Nikšić and the M-4.1 highway.
History
[edit]Construction on the M-4 highway began in 1994 with a projected length of 145 kilometres. However, by July 2008, only 68 kilometres of road was constructed. [1]
- Risan–Knež Laz - 10.5 km, 12 million euros (under construction, projected opening mid-July 2008, delayed till September/October 2008)
- Knež Laz–Dragalj section - 8.5 km (opened 13 July 2008)
- Dragalj–Grahovo section - 7 km, 6.4 million euros (projected opening Fall 2009)
- Grahovo–Osječenica section - 8.5 km (in planning phase as of July 2008)
- Osječenica–Vilusi section - 5.5 km (in planning phase as of July 2008)
- Šavnik–Ivica Tunnel - 11 km (in planning phase as of July 2008)
- Ivica Tunnel–Žabljak - 12,5 km (road length), 2.2 km (tunnel length); 21.8 million euros (construction began June 2008)
