Anthrobliviphobia
[edit]Anthrobliviphobia is the fear of forgetting people from your past. It can be triggered by many situations or stimuli, Mostly, in cases of change. It is typically classified as an anxiety disorder, which often results in panic attacks.
One study indicates that anywhere from 4–6% of the world population is affected by severe anthropophobia , but only a small percentage of these people receive some kind of treatment for the disorder, This is usually triggered at People below the age of 17.
The term Anthrobliviphobia comes from Latin obliviscatur "forget" and Greek Ανθρωποι , Anthropoi , ‘people’ and φόβος, phóbos, "fear".
Symptoms
[edit]Anthrobliviphobia causes frustration,depression,anxiety,panic attacks and suicidal thoughts. A typical Anthrobliviphobic will fear change in location or change in lifestyle due to meeting new people which may cause them to forget the people from their past. Additionally, Forgetting People can affect the Anthrobliviphobic person's brain creating tension.
Most people with Alzheimer's suffer from Anthrobliviphobia.
Diagnosis
[edit]The Anthrobliviphobia person may feel the urge to right down the names of all the people from his past in order not to forget them. In some severe cases, The person may self-harm if forgotten any person.
Anthrobliviphobia Usually triggers the most social people, due to them meeting plethora people which can cause confusion.
Scale
[edit]This method was developed in 2017 by interpreting the files of patients diagnosed with Anthrobliviphobia and by reading various scientific articles about the diagnosis of the disorder. Once an initial scale was developed, it was tested and sharpened by several experts in the field. Today, it consists of 20 questions that determine anxiety levels and desire to avoid certain situations. Several studies have proved this scale to be effective in Anthrobliviphobia diagnosis.
Questionnaire
[edit]This method was developed by The New English School of Kuwait, 12 students studied this field, in 2017. This method is effective in distinguishing symptoms stemming from fear of forgetting.
Causes
[edit]The causes of Anthrobliviphobia are sudden changes in a lifestyle, a strong social life and in some cases it is passed on by genetics. Most people with Alzheimer's suffer from Anthrobliviphobia.
Treatment

[edit]Cognitive therapy is a widely accepted form of treatment for most anxiety disorders. It is also thought to be particularly effective in combating disorders where the patient doesn't actually fear a situation but, rather, fears what could result from being in such a situation. The ultimate goal of cognitive therapy is to modify distorted thoughts or misconceptions associated with whatever is being feared; the theory is that modifying these thoughts will decrease anxiety and avoidance of certain situations.
Writing Therapy
[edit]Writing therapy is when the Anthrobliviphobic person is needed to write the names of the people they have met everyday, they are usually given a Name Journal.
Studies
[edit]Anthrobliviphobia is a newly discovered phobia by The New English School of Kuwait, It was later taken on by the Cambridge University and is currently being studied by 17 International Universities.
