The Quantitative Literacy Project was a joint project of the American Statistical Association (ASA) and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). This project was funded by the National Science Foundation and was a key influence on the NCTM's Curriculum and Evaluation Standards for School Mathematics[1] released in 1989, itself a predecessor of the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics.
